MATERIALS

EXAFITT PMMA

Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) is a high molecular-weight polymer used as a replacement for bone proven for more than 60 years. It is biocompatible, biologically inert, and rigid. Its bone-like mechanical properties are well suited for Cranial and Maxillofacial applications. It is manufactured in 3mm upto 6mm depending on the area of use. It is fixed with mini bone plates and screws. PMMA can be alter with a high speed burr tool in the OR.

ACCUFITT TITANIUM

Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) is a high molecular-weight polymer used as a replacement for bone proven for more than 60 years. Titanium with its superior strength and mechanical properties id the material of choice for permanent implants. It has the highest strength to weight ratio among implantable materials. It is inert and does not react with bodily fluids. AccuFITT implants have a unique lattice structure which is the first in market. This lattice structure helps in better Osseointegration, lesser weight and better strength. It is also permeable allowing fluid motion through it. Fixtures are integrated within the implant and it is secured to the bone with bone screw. It is not possible to alter the shape of the implant during surgery.
